The Old Peculier Run is a a fabulous weekend of riding based in the home of Yorkshire brewing, Masham, the home of T&R Theakston and the Black Sheep Breweries. Masham is the very essence of a Yorkshire Dales market town, from the rich and gentle landscape that surrounds it to the busy market square lined with independent businesses.

After a leisurely amble (this is the Café Amblers after all!) down to Masham on the Friday The Saturday run out takes us through the magnificent Yorkshire Dales where there are some of the best roads in the country! A full days riding taking in the best that the Dales has to offer.

Key Information
Travel: This is a Friday – Sunday event so we will be looking to travel down as a group during the day Friday, those wishing can obviously just join us afterwork in Masham Friday evening.
Accommodation: We will be eating at and leaving from the Kings Head Hotel, which is in the square in the centre of Masham, so most tend to stay here however there is other accommodation in the town if you want to go your own way that’s fine, but please let me know.
Booking: All bookings to be done individually.
Please confirm to me if you are coming and where you will be staying so I can confirm numbers: Gedtell2@aol.com

Dapper Social 2024- Huge Thanks!

Another year done and the Dapper Social continues to grow as does the reputation of our wonderful branch!

A huge thank you for your help and support, as well as both branch and individual donations, what an amazing club we have! Particular thanks to those who helped out on the door on Friday night, plus the Dapper Tappers and Dapper Shunters who gave up their day on Sunday to help with the door and parking, you are all amazing and we couldn’t have done it without you!

Our NE branch has through the event, built so many bridges with some amazing businesses and people from the likes of Triumph, to GC Customs, to Prostate Cancer to the newly formed Northumbrian Police unit. All of these guys are huge supporters of what we have managed to achieve through the Dapper Social.

I will post photos etc. once Cat and I get back from our break and also share with everyone the final tally of money raised – I have a good feeling that we have smashed last years total!

The raffle was drawn on Tuesday at Triumph and the video posted to their plus Dapper Social Facebook pages. There were no winners from the branch this year but thanks to all who bought a book and took the time to sell to friends, family and colleagues.

Congratulations go to Keith and Babs for their outstanding effort and generosity to win the auction on Friday night (a nail biting event as the bids kept going up), winning two nights at the magnificent Holly Bush Inn, Derwenthaugh. This is a fabulous prize donated by one of our very own branch members and owner of the Holly Bush Inn, John Thompson! Big thanks John and his wife Lynne, your kind donation has made a big difference!

I will sign off with a just a couple of posts from Triumph, one from their website and one from a message to the Dapper Tappers, they are both fulsome in their praise for the TOMCC NE Branch and its amazing people!

Once again THANKYOU!

Dapper Weekender Update – Only 2 weeks to go, the final push!

Firstly a huge thankyou to everyone that has already bought their Dapper Weekender tickets and all those that have volunteered their services, the event could not go ahead without the amazing support of the branch and its members so THANKYOU!
However we could do with a little more help if at all possible!
Friday Night Door. We only have a couple of volunteers for the door. It would make such a difference if we could get a few more so that we could put a rota in place. So please anyone going on the Friday that would be prepared to spend part of the evening on the door then please let me know. The more we have the shorter it will be!
Sunday Parking: I could do with just a couple more volunteers on this, so if you can spare some time on Sunday please let me know.
Sunday Door & at Triumph The Dapper Tappers are all in place so big thanks to the ‘Canny Hinnies’ who have turned out in force to cover this!
Finally to all those who have bought a ticket, then why not become an ‘Event Ambassador’ and see if you can get one or two other work colleagues, friends or family to come along as well? The best way to grow the event is through word of mouth and every extra attendee helps!

Finally

Dapper Tees & Hoodies I have a few Limited edition Dapper Tees and Hoodies left, getting great feedback from those that have bought, Tees £20 and hoodies £30

Triumph Newcastle Event: Also Triumph are having a launch event at the Triumph Showroom on Saturday 11th May and we will have a Dapper Social stand there promoting the event, Susan will be providing the Dapper Cup Cakes! So if you want to drop by and say hello then please do, or if you fancy helping out for an hour then give me a shout!

Stay Dapper

Cheers Ged

Dapper Weekender: Your Help Needed!

Hi All

There are less than 50 days now to the Dapper Weekender, this cannot happen without the support of the club and its members, so how can you help?

Before I start, please remember this is a charity event aimed at raising as much money as possible for Prostate Cancer and Men’s Mental Health Charities, it doesn’t require you to have a classic bike or want to ride one, nor do you need to dress Dapper or even drink beer!! you just need a willingness to help!

Friday Night Door Ticket & Raffle Sales.
Help needed here checking tickets on the door.
Sunday Bike Parking: Anyone not afraid to shout and swear! Preferably people not doing the actual ride who can also help with the car park signs and be in place for the bikes arriving.

Sunday Door Badge & Raffle Sales.: Cat has a list of the ‘Dapper Tappers’ who have volunteered so far. We will also be focussing this year on selling as many badges as possible at Triumph prior to the ride on Sunday, as such we will have a table set up there as well as at the Brewery.
Branch Recruitment Stall: Volunteers required for set up and manning on the Sunday
Raffle Ticket Sales Before Event; Watch out for a Facebook post from Triumph on this! We have 3 amazing prizes to win! If you aren’t able to help with the above then just buy a raffle ticket or event better sell some and potentially win a a bonus prize from Triumph for the one who sells the most! raffle tickets can be bought or collected from Cheryle at Triumph or myself on an Amblers Ride

Leafleting and Posters.
If you have a local pub or café that you could stick a poster up in PLEASE DO! these can be collected from Cheryle at Triumph or myself on an Amblers Ride.

If you are willing or able to do any of the above please please drop me an email (if you have not done so already) together we can make this an amazing event that the Branch can be proud of being involved with

And finally, if you haven’t bought your ticket yet… what are you waiting for!!!
