Winner of the puncture repair challenge at tonight's branch meeting was the cheapest, quickest and easiest to use. The rubber worm kit (£7)won, taking about 2 minutes, followed at about 6 minutes on the second attempt by the Grand Pitstop rubber mushroom gun kit. We didn't try the tyre gunk kit but those that have tried it says it works well…the downside being that tyre fitter hate it and will charge extra for cleaning gunked up rims. Last place went to the overly chunky plug kit…as we couldn't get the large odd shaped plugs into the puncture hole.Ged gave a reminder about the DGR Dapper social and Sunday gathering at Tyne bank brewery following the ride. Volunteers wanted for marshalling at the event.. contact Mark Lamb. Last brass monkey ride 2nd April… details to follow See MoreSee Less

Next Tuesday's branch meeting will include a puncture repair off! Triumph Newcastle have loaned us 2 tyres on rims with which we can again see which is the most practical approach. I have the standard reamer and rubber worm kit if others can bring different types…there will be the opportunity to practice in a non live situation See MoreSee Less
